First Session meeting for two years. Kirk Session reduced, apparently to one elder. Rev. S Blair, Dalry appointed by Presbytery to attend to enable quorum for meeting to be constituted for ordination of three elders.

Carsphairn Church
The present church was built in 1815 on the site where there had been a church since 1636. Inside are several interesting plaques and one of the four remaining central communion tables in Scotland. In the churchyard are to be found some notable gravestones. At the north east end there used to be an outside staircase to the miner's gallery, now demolished.Tags Church of Scotland -

In Memory of John Loudon Macadam, roadmaker, whose name is enshrined in every lanuage & his memorial perpetuated in the roads of evey land. Born at Ayr 1756, his early home Lagwine, about half a mile to north west of this kirk of Carsphairn. Died at Moffat, Dumfriesshire, 1836.
